As we all know WordPress has its default login page that can usually be found at http://yoursite.com/wp-admin which is fine but let say that you wanted to have the login form as part of your site and themed like your site without users going to the default blank login page. Well this is where this pretty good plugin comes in “Theme My login”.
Besides embedding the login section into your site it also offers a few your new features to your WordPress site:
It gives you the option to allow users either login with “Username” or “eMail Address”
or “Email” only
As for additional functionality Theme my login has what is called modules that you can enable we will be focusing on “Themed Profiles” and “Custom Redirection”:
Themed Profiles is nice for the simple fact that you can set it where users do not have access to the WordPress Backend dashboard if it is not needed. Anytime they click on the “My Profile” option they will be taken to a page on your site where the profile information is theme like your site vs the WordPress dashboard. Within the configuration section you can select which groups have access to the WordPress dashboard and which groups do not.
Custom redirection allows you to set which page a user will see first after signing in or which page they will see once they logout. This is one of the features that we like for the simple reason that once we build a site we use this feature to set the user to see their “My Account” page after signing in and when they sign out instead of seeing a login page again we redirect them to the home page of the site.
So as you can see based on these two features alone this plugin is worth its weight. to get a full list of other features for this plugin visit the plugin site here
